Device Guides: Casting and Downloading Recordings

PlayOn Home allows you to cast recordings to your TV from a variety of devices. Just turn on your streaming device or game console and make sure it's connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your PlayOn Home PC. You can also download your recordings to your iPhone, Android Phone, iPad, or Tablet and take your shows and movies with you to watch whenever you want.

 


Download Recordings to Your Phone or Tablet

You can easily download recordings directly from PlayOn Home to your iPhone, Android Phone or Tablet with the free PlayOn Cloud app. If you do not already have it, install PlayOn Cloud from the Apple app store or Google Play store to your phone or tablet. Click Sign In from the upper right and use your PlayOn Home username and password to sign in. Make sure your device is on the same home network (WiFi or wired) as your PlayOn Home PC. Click Recordings from the bottom menu and then select the Home tab at the top. You'll see all your Recordings from your PlayOn PC. Select which ones you want to download and click the download icon and enjoy!Once downloaded, you'll find your PlayOn Home recordings in the Device tab of PlayOn Cloud recordings. You can watch the recordings anytime, anywhere, offline, and ad-free (if you select AdSkip)!

 


Casting Devices

Chromecast

Cast PlayOn Home recordings from the PlayOn PC  to your Chromecast with the click of a button. Just mouse over your recording in the PlayOn Home app and click the cast icon  icon to cast to your Chromecast. You'll be able to enable AdSkip when you cast.

 

Fire TV

You can easily watch PlayOn Home recordings on your Fire TV using the casting feature. To cast from  PlayOn Home, select a PlayOn Home recording  and click the cast icon icon to bring up a list of available casting devices. Select your Fire TV device and click on the Cast button to send the video to your TV. You can also cast PlayOn recordings with AdSkip.

 

Roku

If you already have the MyMedia channel installed on your Roku – you're all set to stream your local media to your Roku. If you are a PlayOn Home subscriber, you'll need to get the PlayOn channel on your Roku — just search for PlayOn in the Roku Channel store to add it. Or you can add the PlayOn Channel from your PC. Once the PlayOn channel is installed, you can start casting to your Roku from PlayOn Home on your PC or browse shows and movies on the Roku. You can also add videos to the recording queue directly from Roku and watch recordings with AdSkip.
